The 32-inch LCD FlatTV - 32PF9630A - is the first TV with Philips proprietary ClearLCD technology launched in the U.S. market. ClearLCD is a unique technology that uses scanning and backlight dimming technology to create astounding images on an LCD screen with much greater motion clarity and contrast than ever before.

Using Philips HCFL lamps for the backlights, Philips is uniquely positioned to deliver this technology to consumers. The scanning backlight technology increases the sharpness of motion reproduction, and by combining it with higher refresh rates, retains the superb picture ?quietness? afforded by the LCD technology. This scanning backlight technology is combined with a new backlight module, using HCFL lamps, allowing for deeper dimming of the lamps, resulting in better black level, higher contrast and a larger viewing angle.
