Aside from screen size difference, the two models differ only in a few key areas: resolution (the 40PFL3706/F7 is 1080p rather than 720p), image engine (the 40PFL3706/F7 sports Pixel Plus HD technology rather than Digital Crystal Clear technology) and a USB port with media playback capability.

The 40PFL3706/F7's Pixel Plus HD technology is meant to automatically enhance digital signals for an overall more vivid, lifelike picture. Meanwhile, the 40PFL3706/F7's VGA port allows it to be used as a computer monitor with any computer while PC's with newer graphics cards can connect via HDMI.
