Philips 47PFL3704D/F7
$1,300.00
Released January, 2009
The Pros:Excellent overall value at the price point - picture quality, sound, and general ease-of-use are on-par with competitors from Sony, Panasonic and Samsung. Off-axis visibility is very good - minimal discoloration amongst wide-angle viewing, ideal for group applications. Built-in speakers provide surprisingly good sound outputting - audio is clear and well-balanced with considerable low-end presence.
The Cons:Black levels are somewhat poorly-represented - especially noticeable in dimly-lit movie/video game scenes where picture may appear "washed out". Some users report constant screen flickering issues within as little as one year or use - may severely limit unit lifespan due to one-year warranty.
