Samsung LN52A550
$2,000.00
Released March, 2008
The Pros:Displays full 1080p HD video in perfect detail, nothing lost or blurred. Looks fine for most viewers right out of the box, no need to adjust it. Fast enough to be used with fast-paced video games, good response.
The Cons:Sound is very poor, everything is washed out and difficult to hear. Colors never get very realistic, tend to be overly saturated from a videophile's perspective. Video upscaling of SD signals isn't very good, looks dramatically poor in comparison to HD content.
The 5 series of LCD televisions are part of Samsung's 2008 line of sets and are their entry level offering for 1080p native resolution. More information found on the Samsung 5 Series report.

plenty of inputs for both newer and legacy equipment, works with everything and so many ports you probably won't need a receiver

#samsung_ln52a550 Just wait a while. It will probably crash for good. Mine did it three time before sliding into oblivion. It's 8 months old, been fighting with Samsung for 3 weeks. finally Tv shop came and got it. Now Samsung claims I abused it and refusing to repair under warranty. The saga continues.

#samsung_ln52a550 All of a sudden my Samsung just stopped and started to click like it wanted to turn off and on. When I let it cool down it starts again as if nothing was wrong. It is fairly new as in the last six months. Has anyone else had this problem?
