Samsung UN55C6500

$2,700.00 Released March, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Great-looking stand and bezel, fits in well in any room. Glare during viewing is noticeably less than other models. Control over the "motion plus" feature allows user adjustment to optimize image based on the type of program watched.

The Cons:Customer service is poor in relation to this product. Dark areas of images occasionally suffer from clouding/hazing.

The Samsung UN55C6500 is one of four 1080p LCD TVs released by Samsung in early 2010. All models in the 6500 Series feature a contemporary new design with LED edge lighting, but they maintain the same 1.2” depth of their 2009 predecessors.

The 55” UN55C6500 is the largest in the series. It too features an AutoMotion 120Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the natural background blur has been removed for normal cable broadcasts and DVD content—which in turn renders a somewhat kitchy effect. Additionally, the expanded Internet@TV service now allows streaming content from Blockbuster, Netflix USA Today, and VUDU, as well as access to Twitter, Picassa, AccuWeather and Pandora. Ethernet is included, but WiFi is optional.

Additional Information

Additional features include a built-in digital tuner, connectivity to digital cameras and thumb-drives via USB, and ENERGY STAR 4.0 certification, which means extra-lower power consumption.
