The Aquos D44U series is Sharp's entry level line of high definition LCD televisions introduced in 2008. Being the entry level these sets contain a native-resolution of 720p and lack most of the features found in higher-end televisions such as a 120Hz mode and motion interpolation.

Product Shot 2 The line above the D44Us is the D64U series which offers a 1080p native resolution. One of the features of the D44U series that distinguishes itself from entry-level offerings by other manufacturers is the addition of an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the image depending on how much light is in the room.
