The BRAVIA VE5 is Sony's line of environmentally friendly LCD HDTVs that contain specific features that reduces energy consumption. The three main features Sony touts is the "near zero-watt standby mode", high-efficiency HCFL backlight, and a presence sensor for automatic shutoff.
