The AV500s do not carry the Regza brand, and are the only line of 2008 Toshiba TVs lacking the fourth generation PixelPure image processing technology. Instead the AV500U line uses a 10-bit processor. Coming above the AV500 line is the CV510 which contains the same 720p native resolution but adds the fourth generation processor, and is part of the Regza brand. Added in the fall of 2008 are three sets in the AV502 which add a second HDMI input and come with a thinner bezel.
